Real leather cowboy boots, chosen for UK wear
Our cowboy boots collection brings together the bootmakers people search for by name: Sendra from Almansa in Spain, Mayura Boots from Valverde del Camino, Ariat, Twisted X, Corral and FB Fashion Boots. You will find tall riding boots with an angled heel, low ropers with a walking heel, ankle-height western boots and work styles built for long days on your feet.
Most pairs sit between about £150 and £320, with handmade Goodyear-welted boots towards the top of that range. Use the filters to narrow by department, colour and EU size, or start with one of the collections below if you already know the look you want.

How to choose cowboy boots
Three things decide how a cowboy boot looks and feels: the toe, the heel and the shaft. Get those right for the way you will wear them, then choose the leather and colour.
Toe shape
Square toe cowboy boots give your toes the most room and suit everyday wear. Round toes are the traditional working shape. Pointed or snip toes look sharp with slim jeans but leave less room at the front, and almond toes sit between the two. Our toe shapes guide shows each one side by side.
Heel height
A tall, angled riding heel keeps your foot in a stirrup and gives the classic cowboy stance. A lower roper or walking heel is easier on pavements and for long days. If you have not worn cowboy boots before, a walking heel is the easier place to start.
Shaft height and calf fit
Classic cowboy boots have a shaft of around 30 cm or more, which looks best over or under straight-leg jeans. Ankle-height western boots are easier to pull on and wear under skinny or slim-fit trousers.
How should cowboy boots fit?
Cowboy boots have no laces, so the fit comes from the instep and the heel. When you try a new pair:
- Your foot should go in with a firm push and a slight pop at the instep.
- Expect your heel to lift a little, about a centimetre, when you walk. This settles as the sole softens.
- Your toes should not touch the end, and the widest part of your foot should sit at the widest part of the boot.
Most boots we sell are in EU sizes. Our size guide converts EU to UK sizes, and the cowboy boot fit guide explains how leather boots break in.
Cowboy boots vs western boots
The terms overlap. In our shop, cowboy boots means the full collection, while western boots covers the shorter, more fashion-led styles that work well in towns and cities. If you are unsure, our cowboy vs western boots guide explains the difference.

Cowboy boots: your questions
Are cowboy boots comfortable for everyday wear?
Yes, if you choose the right heel and toe. A square or round toe with a walking or roper heel is the most comfortable combination for city streets. Leather boots soften and mould to your feet over the first few weeks.
Do cowboy boots run big or small?
It depends on the brand and the last. Most of our boots are in EU sizes; check the size guide for the UK equivalent and, if you are between sizes, read the fit notes on the product page. You can exchange or return within 30 days.
How do I stop my heel slipping in cowboy boots?
A small heel lift is normal at first and settles as the sole bends. If your heel slips more than a centimetre or two, try a half size down or add a thin insole.
Can I wear cowboy boots in the rain?
Leather boots handle a shower, especially once treated with a protector spray. Dry wet boots slowly at room temperature, away from radiators, then condition the leather. See our boot care guide.
